Hello,

I’m Stasia Matsumoto, the founder of award-winning kimono portraiture experience INKIMONO.

I’m a professionally trained and licensed kimono stylist and photographer based in Asakusa, Tokyo. Since 2018, I’ve combined my love of kimono with portrait photography to create a more personal way of experiencing and photographing kimono.

Each session is carefully styled around the person wearing it, from the kimono and obi to the final photographs.

My work has been featured in magazines, newspapers, YouTube videos, radio and television. In 2026, INKIMONO was awarded Best LGBTQ+ Travel and Best Accessible Travel by the Japan Travel Awards.

I have built my studio around kimono, photography and inclusion — my goal is to create an authentic kimono experience for everyone.
