Flow of the INKIMONO experience
To create the best possible photographs and a truly authentic kimono experience, every INKIMONO session is carefully prepared from start to finish.
From selecting your kimono and learning about its details, to styling, dressing and choosing the setting for your portraits, each step is tailored to you.

Before your photoshoot, I will prepare a personalized outfit suggestion based on the information you provide in your booking form. This is simply a starting point — nothing is final.
On the day, we will look at the pieces together, make adjustments and refine the styling so that you feel comfortable and happy with your final look.
Before getting dressed, I will introduce you to the particular kimono you will be wearing for your photoshoot. We will explore its formality, seasonality, patterns and fabrics, as well as any details that make the piece special. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about kimono along the way!
Once your kimono has been selected, I can provide complimentary hairstyling to complete your look. If professional makeup has been booked, a professional makeup artist will take care of your makeup on the day.
I will then dress you in the kimono selected for your photoshoot. As a professionally trained and licensed kimono dresser, I will ensure that your kimono is adjusted well. I have experience dressing a wide range of body types, and I will make sure you feel comfortable, confident and well cared for throughout the dressing process.
Now it’s time for your photoshoot! We’ll discuss the mood and atmosphere you’re looking for, and I’ll recommend a location that complements your vision and kimono. Photoshoots usually take place outdoors at scenic locations around my studio in Asakusa, or at one of the available indoor locations (indoor locations must be booked in advance!).
