About me and INKIMONO *
Photography
I began my photography career in 2016, initially working in street photography before developing a particular focus on portraiture and kimono.
In 2018, I founded INKIMONO, bringing together my two areas of expertise: kimono and photography. Since then, I have styled and photographed over 1000 kimono portrait sessions, creating each experience personally from the initial outfit selection through styling, dressing, photography and final image editing.
My photography and kimono styling work has included projects for Kirin Australia, GirlGaze, Minato City, Sanshoan (kimono brand), JR Hokuriku Shinkansen and Tokyo Weekender, as well as editorial photography featured in international and Japanese media.
My photographic style is dreamy, dramatic and romantic. I work primarily with natural light and the streets, gardens and architecture of Asakusa, allowing the surroundings to become an integral part of each portrait session.
Kimono
My interest in kimono began in 2017, when I started studying at Aoyama Kimono Gakuin.
In 2019, I obtained my professional kimono consultant and stylist licence, followed by the advanced 一級講師 qualification in 2022.
Since then, I have continued to develop my skills through additional training, including kimono hairstyling and wheelchair kimono dressing for casual, formal, furisode and hakama styles.
I have an extensive kimono collection featuring authentic silk pieces, often antique, but also modern brands and rare unique items. Many pieces were generously donated by families across Japan.
I personally select each kimono, obi and accessory for every client, considering their individual style, preferences, the season, the occasion and the character of the garments themselves. I do not simply provide a standard rental outfit — each combination is carefully created for the individual.
